I Started working as a GIS professional in 1999 at "Kenniscentrum Recreatie" a dutch NGO supporting dutch governmental organizations with knowledge on leisure and recreation. Responsible for team members and projects on spatial planning, spatial model development, GIS application maintenance, advanced spatial analysis, open standards development, end responsibility for a scientific GIS research program at Alterra, Wageningen. All work was very ESRI oriented.
In 2005 I decided to become an independent professional and dive into the Open Source world. Since then I do all things geo information as long as 'open' is part of the deal. I am working as a GEO-ICT specialist on diverse subjects as spatial planning, spatial web portal development, advanced geo-spatial analysis, teaching all thing geo, QGIS plugin development, GEO-ICT architecture, mobile app development, web viewer development, open standards maintenance.
Since 2010 I am a part time teacher at "Geo academie". I am responsible for teaching and developing courses in geo-information, both generic (GIS and Geo-information basics, Open Source Principles, Geographic webservices) and applied to software (Starting QGIS, PostGIS, etc.).
In 2014 I joined the SkyGeo team for a few days a week. There I am responsible for the customer portal delivering the high resolution (both spatial and temporal) deformation data aimed at monitoring infrastructure.
