Speaker: Cesar Martinez Izquierdo (SCOLAB / gvSIG Association)
Graduated on Computer Science Engineering on the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV), he collaborated with the Debian GNU/Linux development community while attending the university.
After graduating, he joined the Spanish company IVER on 2006, becoming part of the development team of the gvSIG (http://www.gvsig.com) desktop GIS application , a GPLd software written in Java.
He moved to Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) on 2009 to work on several European Topic Centers ("Land Use and Spatial Information", "Spatial Information and Analysis" and finally "Urban, Land ans Soil Systems"). On this period he participated on international research projects and continued working on the development of software solutions for geospatial data analysis, processing and visualization.
On 2014 he joined Scolab (http://www.scolab.es), where he continued working on gvSIG Desktop and also started developing gvSIG Online, a tool which simplifies the creation of Spatial Data Infrastructures using state-of-the-art web technologies.
